Locoal-Mendon
The hamlet centered around the old mill shows the importance of the place. This Mill existed several centuries before the French revolution, at that time Brittany was an independent country and watermills had a strategic role to preserve the autonomy of the county (grinding, sawing..).
The renovation carried out by the current owners took more than 7 years, and the result is stunning: the place is authentic both inside and outside, the character is preserved and the flower mill is in working order ready to grind again. A landscaped garden surrounds the property, with the mill canal crossing the place and the river flowing on the side. The mill pond is there to give more capacity to the mill during the working hours. There is a possibility to acquire more land in case this place was to become again
a riding center (there are stables, a query, a riding school).
Several stone properties have been renovated and turned into adorable living cottages: the mill, the miller's house, the corn store and the "demeure" of the 19th century. With more than 450 m² of renovated space (530 m² total), the proximity with the south coast, the magic place, will contribute to satisfy all your projects (gites, equestrian, or simply share it with other families/friends).
The Mill
It is currently the house of the owners, with on the ground floor, a living room with an open chimney, a kitchen with fitted equipment, a utility room and on the otherside, the mill part with the grinding wheel and the mechanism underneath. Upstairs there is an open space used as a study/bedroom, a bedroom and a bathroom. An attic above the mill part has not been converted.
The Miller's cottage
This house is semi-detached. It has its independent access but also communicates with the mill through a massive double door. On the ground floor, a living room with chimney overlooked by an authentic couple (...). Upstairs, there is a large attic to convert.
The corn store
Now a prety cottage overlooking the mill pond. On the ground floor, a living room with chimney and an open hitchen plan. On the first floor, a bedroom and bathroom. On the second floor, a large bedroom with the ols a-frames exposed.
"Demeure"
Raised on 4 levels, this property exhibits pretty features. On the garden floor there is a technical room and a small flat (2 rooms). The main entrance of Demeure is on the ground floor from the terrace. You will find a living room with 2 chimneys, a "Britton" closed bed hiding the kitchen area, a bathroom and toilets. Upstairs, 2 bedrooms with on suite bathrooms; you will find the same organisation on the second floor.
