160 m²
Bastille-Popincourt, Paris 11ème
20th century industrial architecture, this former furniture factory, hidden from view at the back of a paved courtyard typical of the artisanal past of the Charonne-Keller district, houses a characterful 160 m2 loft workshop reinvented as a living space, like an independent house, a stone's throw from Keller Street.
Rehabilitated in 2005, this unique, vertically conceived space is a place where light circulates freely thanks to large skylights and a volumetric architecture. Behind a discreet facade, the space is fluidly organized, blending exposed brick, metal beams, skylights, and understated materials in an industrial style.
The ground floor houses the entrance, leading to a first living space currently used as an office or guest room, ideal for working from home, a separate area, or an occasional bedroom. Beyond this, a master suite unfolds around a freestanding bathtub, with an adjoining dressing room and shower room, offering exceptional comfort and an almost hotel-like atmosphere. A steel staircase, a sculptural element of the space, leads to the first floor, the vibrant heart of the loft. Here, the main living area opens beneath an extra-large skylight: the living room, dining room, and open-plan kitchen with unobstructed views flow together in a single volume bathed in natural southern light. The high ceilings and perspectives create a feeling of spaciousness and constant openness. A bedroom completes this level. On the second floor which has recently been extended the home-like feel continues with two additional bedrooms, ideal for a family, guests, or a creative space, as well as a shower room.
This loft offers a subtle balance between intimacy and openness, raw architecture and contemporary comfort, in a scenographic layout where each level has its own atmosphere, allowing for multiple uses and true modularity on a daily basis.
A storage unit in the courtyard is available as an additional option.
A loft that feels like a house, with an industrial aesthetic.
