An 18th-century manor house with a garden, swimming pool and outbuildings, in the Nièvre area, in the upper part of Clamecy. Passers-by will have difficulty seeing the early 18th century house, due to it being set back from the street on which it is situated. Two gates, one for cars, the other for pedestrians, open into the property from the street. Sober pilasters frame the main gate, on either side of which stand walls that may have recently been lowered. After the entrance porch, a gravelled drive runs past an outbuilding to the right before reaching the small patio that serves as a stoop to the south of the house. The drive then turns to the left to another outbuilding, before reaching the gate that opens onto the garden, which offers an unbeatable view of the town of Clamecy and the Saint Martin collegiate church, a masterpiece of Burgundy Gothic architecture. The entirely walled garden was previously occupied by a religious community as demonstrated by vestiges identified on the site, probably before the French Revolution. The three buildings have plastered stone facades, are two to three storeys high with straight or low arched windows, and roofs of various shapes, with slate tiles on the house and flat tiles on the outbuildings.
