As you turn on to the drive, your first glimpse of this 40 year old villa is intriguing. Totally unique, built by an architect, the lines and design of this building draw the eye in. With an open landscape in front of the house, it is protected from behind by acres of woodland. There is such a feeling of peacefulness here, a real escape to the country, as if nothing exists outside of this bubble. Inside the house, the feeling of peace, light and colour continues. Windows instead of walls bring the outdoors in, every room has large doors or windows so you could be forgiven if you felt like you were living in the open air. As you enter the house, there's space to hang coats and a WC, and you'll find the first guest room with its ensuite shower room just off to the left. Here we can see more of the architect's influence in the curved walls of the bedroom. The living room brings out yet another WOW. A wall of glass gives you views straight out over the rolling park in front of the house, and the beautiful colours of the other walls encourages a happy feeling. Down a few steps is a cosy sitting area with a fireplace and another wall of glass. Past the technical part of the house, a laundry room and access to the garage, there is a conservatory style walkway through to the dining room and fitted kitchen. Behind the dining room is an office, again with two glass walls which must make concentrating on work extremely difficult when you have all the ancient trees to contemplate instead. Off the kitchen is a very useful pantry which in turn leads you in to a gym, or torture room for some people! Hopefully the views of the woodland will calm the pain! Back to the living room, there is another arm of the building which houses another two bedrooms with a shared shower room with sauna. Outside the kitchen, the heated pool has both an electric security cover and a rolling shelter which helps extend the swimming season. Although not an infinity pool, it has been built at the top of the sloping garden, so the feeling of being at one with nature is never far away. Most of the 6 hectares is woodland, full of ancient oak trees, plenty of wood to keep you warm and cosy on those winter evenings. Nestled in amongst the trees are the owners ingenious storage units. Not wanting to build sheds, he has installed three containers which house his workshop and garden machinery. Everywhere you go, nature calls you, whether indoors or out. Beautiful on a glorious sunny day, impressive on a stormy evening, but always fascinating. To whom would this property appeal? This would appeal to anyone who wants to enjoy nature in comfort. The house has been designed to feel like you're living outside but with the comfort of modern day living. What would I do it this property was mine? I would replace the gym (torture room) with another bedroom and convert the pantry in to an ensuite shower room. What we like here at Bliss: Light, bright, colour, peace and tranquility, just wow!
